About Dr Nik & Yathin


Dr Nik (as he is internationally known) holds a PhD from the Free University of Berlin (Germany) and a Postgraduate Diploma from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and has appeared extensively on CNBC Africa, Business Day, Carte Blanche and eNCA.


Dr Nik is the Founder and Executive Chair of the Future Leader Forum and has interviewed 100 Global CEO's on the Future of Leadership (www.thefutureleadership.com ) and has presented to the international media at the Global Leaders’ Summit, sharing the platform with renowned leadership gurus such as Tom Peters, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Porter to name a few.

Yathin Soni brings over 22 years of experience serving major local and global corporates such as Eskom, Rand Merchant Bank, AngloGold Ashanti and BNP Paribas, in senior management roles up to Director level. 


He has served on the board of a global gold exploration company, and has led and coached high-performance teams to achieve record-breaking performances in supply chain, and corporate and investment banking sales.


Yathin has had the good fortune to travel and work globally across 18 African countries as well as in Europe, USA, Latin America and the Middle East on various energy and mining projects / transactions, ranging from hydroelectric power new builds and refurbishments, to mining of gold, silver, coal, manganese and mineral sands mining to name some.


After a successful 20-year career in corporate, Yathin felt the time had come for him to take the giant leap into entrepreneurship. In 2017 he founded North Star Consulting & Coaching, and is currently independently advising a global consulting major on new business development in the SA resources space, and several junior mining and beneficiation companies in areas of business strategy, capital raising and supply chain optimization.


Yathin holds a BSc Engineering degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal and a Masters degree in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria.
